I am a democrat that stands strongly against privatizing social security. I advocate for the homeless, the Veteran's, women's right to equal pay, affordable quality health care, and sustainability that prevents global warming.

I believe that as Americans, we have everything we need to reverse the decline of our economy. Together we have the ability to repair our broken Healthcare system through Medicare for All. We need to invest in an All-Renewable energy system that will result in savings for both consumers and businesses and we need to work together to address the issues of our struggling schools.

The United States is the greatest country in the world and yet, we don't take care of the men and women who served in our armed forces the way that we should. We also have a homelessness problem across the country that we should not have. We need to demand better of our government on every level (Federal, State, and Local). We vote for our representatives to work for us and not against us. We don't need people in office with self-serving agenda's.

Diedra M. Greenaway was born and raised in the State of California. She grew up in a military family and household. Diedra did a great deal of traveling with her family across this great country and she now calls the Antelope Valley her home. Through her upbringing she learned the value of courage, strength and sacrifice as well as the core values of integrity, selflessness and excellence.

Diedra earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology and a Post-graduate Certificate in Gerontology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Following these accomplishments, Diedra furthered her education by earning a Master’s of Science in Health Care Administration and a Master’s in Business Administration from The University of Maryland, University College. Diedra helped in forming the Gerontology Society at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) which now holds membership of The Association for Gerontology in Higher Education. Diedra is a passionate volunteer liaison for the California State University, Northridge EOP Resilient Scholars Program, where she works with students who have aged out of the foster care system and are now attending CSUN in pursuit of their degrees.

Council Work

As a council member of the Northridge East Neighborhood Council, Diedra has worked intensively with various groups within Los Angeles County to address the needs of the homeless and our growing senior population. She was elected and currently serves as a Budget Advocate for the City of Los Angeles to work with The Department of Aging, The Department of Economics & the Workforce and The Department of Information Technology. Her objectives are to address the projected needs of these city departments and to communicate the information obtained to the mayor’s senior staff members in preparation of the city budget.

Diedra’s Goals for the 25th District of California

  • Address our education system by working toward the assurance that we meet global standards
  • Address our healthcare system: Medicare for All is a system that would work
  • Address the needs of our Veteran’s: No Veteran should be homeless or unemployed.
  • Address the needs of our homeless: This is an issue that we should not have. The United State         is a developed country and we should not have a homelessness problem
  • Infrastructure: We need to assure that our streets and roads are maintained and that our                     transportation systems meet standards. The money spent on the high speed rail project could           be put to better use, such as addressing the needs of the community as mentioned above.

I want to involve the community more in the issues that we face. I want real participation. Our government was established by the people, to serve in the best interest of the people. Our government needs to be held accountable when they fall short of their purpose.
